(Austin, Texas) -- Today, the members of the Texas House Republican Caucus met for the Caucus’ Selection of its Endorsed Speaker Candidate for the upcoming 86th Legislative Session. The Texas House Republican Caucus has selected Representative Dennis Bonnen as its Endorsed Speaker Candidate.
In announcing their endorsement, Chairman Dustin Burrows said, “The Texas House Republican Caucus has taken one of the first steps in organizing the House Chamber for the upcoming session. We are honored to have unanimously selected Representative Dennis Bonnen to lead the House to many conservative victories as our Speaker during the 86th Session.”
“Today I have the distinct honor of receiving the endorsement of my Republican House colleagues to become the next Speaker of the Texas House,” said Representative Bonnen. “Session after session, I have fought alongside these Members to help champion conservative legislation for the State of Texas and my constituents — next session will be no different.
