Texas House Republican Caucus Appoints Floor Leaders for the 86th Legislative Session

Today, Texas House Republican Caucus Chairman Dustin Burrows announced the appointment of Representative Jim Murphy as the Caucus Floor Leader for the 86th Legislative Session. Representative Murphy will be joined by the following members who will serve as Deputy Floor Leaders: John Raney, Kyle Biedermann, Cole Hefner, Justin Holland, Tony Tinderholt, and Bill Zedler.

“The top priority of the Texas House Republican Caucus is to provide instrumental legislative support to its membership and we are excited to have a well-organized floor management team to disseminate our policy recommendations and assist our members in passing legislation that upholds our conservative priorities,” said Chairman Dustin Burrows.

Together, the Floor Leaders will be tasked with ensuring that the Republican majority is organized on the House floor and that information can quickly be shared among the Caucus membership in real-time when critical issues are being addressed. 

In accepting his role as Floor Leader, Representative Jim Murphy stated, "I appreciate the confidence of leadership in appointing me to this position and look forward to working with my colleagues to advance our Republican agenda."
