The Texas House Republican Caucus is comprised of all 101 Republican members serving in the 82nd Texas House of Representatives. Elected officers of the Republican Caucus include:

Rep. Larry Taylor – Chairman

Representative Larry Taylor

Representative Larry Taylor was re-elected by his colleagues to serve a second term as Chairman of the House Republican Caucus. He is a member of the House Insurance Committee and Chairman of the Elections Committee. Rep. Taylor represents District 24 in Galveston County and is serving his fifth term in the Texas House of Representatives. Rep. Taylor is a committed fiscal conservative and was recognized with the Conservative Leader Award given to the top 16 conservative leaders by the Heritage Alliance.

Rep. Myra Crownover – Vice Chairman

Representative Myra Crownover was elected by her colleagues to serve as the Vice Chairman of the House Republican Caucus for the 20011-2012 term. She is the Vice Chair of the Energy Resource Committee, and is a member of the House Appropriations Committee. Rep. Crownover represents District 64 in Denton County and is serving her sixth term in the Texas House of Representatives. In 2009, the House Republican Caucus named her “Guardian of the Rainy Day Fund” and the Texas Association for Business named her a “Champion for Free Enterprise.”

Rep. Brandon Creighton – Secretary

Representative Brandon Creighton was elected by his colleagues to serve as the Secretary of the House Republican Caucus for the 2011-2012 term. He is the Chair of the Select Committee on State Sovereignty, Vice Chair of General Investigating and Ethics, a member of the Natural Resource Committee and the Pensions, Investments and Financial services Committee. Rep. Creighton represents District 16 in Montgomery County and is serving his third term in the Texas House of Representatives. In 2009, Rep. Creighton was named a Taxpayer Hero by Texans for Fiscal Responsibility, and received national acclaim for authoring the Texas state Sovereignty Legislation affirming the 10th Amendment Rights of Texas under the US Constitution.

Rep. Linda Harper-Brown – Treasurer

Representative Linda Harper-Brown

Representative Linda Harper-Brown was re-elected to serve as the Treasurer of the House Republican Caucus for the 2011-2012 term. She is a member of the Government Efficiency & Reform Committee and the Transportation Committee. Rep. Harper-Brown represents District 105 in Irving and is serving her fifth term in the Texas House of Representatives. Rep. Harper-Brown is a long-time supporter of improving education for Texas’ children and has served both on the Duncanville School Board and the North Texas Association of School Boards.

Rep. Kelly Hancock – Policy Chairman

Representative Kelly Hancock

Representative Kelly Hancock was selected to serve his second term as the Policy Chairman of the House Republican Caucus. He is a member of the Environmental Regulation Committee and the House Insurance Committee. Rep. Hancock represents District 91 in Fort Worth and Tarrant County and is serving his third term in the Texas House of Representatives. In 2009, Rep. Hancock was named “Legislator of the Year” by the Texas Fire Chiefs Association and was given the “Katie Sherrod Advocacy Award” for advocating for victims of domestic violence.

Each elected officer serves a two year term.
