The Caucus chair is the majority leader of the Texas House. The chair’s primary role is to represent and preside over the Caucus. Their set of responsibilities includes appointing additional officers of the Caucus, organizing the membership on the House floor and during scheduled meetings, coordinating liaison activities with interested parties, acting as the official spokesperson of the Caucus, and more.

A member of the Caucus executive committee, the vice chair is instrumental in helping the chair with their assigned duties. In the event that the chair is absent, the vice chair will take on the role of the chair for the Caucus, performing tasks as directed.

As the chief financial officer, the treasurer prepares and maintains the budget for the Caucus. If a financial report is required by the law, the treasurer is also responsible for completing and filing all necessary documents.

The secretary serves on the Caucus executive committee and is responsible for keeping records for the Caucus. Aside from record keeping, the secretary performs any duties assigned to them by the chair and the executive committee.

The policy chair is responsible for organizing the caucus policy committee and reporting the findings and legislative recommendations of the caucus policy committee to the Caucus membership.
